About 50 years after the famous recruitment agreement between Germany and Turkey, this musical spectacle demonstrates with a long-lost treasury of songs and documentary material, why the official history of labour migration in German lands is a miserable understatement.

Erpulat and Kulaoğlu have collected a lot of documentary material that sparkles with an absurdity that only reality can get right: starting with the bizarre mass health checks for foreign workers right through to conversation guides for German naturalization authorities. Erpulat does not project an image in black and white. He illustrates circumstances that exaggerate themselves into a farce.  (Der Tagesspiegel)
